Banky W - I Pray To Have Artistes Bigger Than Wizkid

In a recent interview with a Nigerian radio station, Banky W has disclosed that his greatest prayer is to have artistes that will excel more than Wizkid, who is also singed under EME. Banky W said, “Bad news is more interesting to people than good news and when you don’t give people bad news, they just find a way to create it just to get traffic to their website or sell their newspapers. Contrary to what was reported, Wizkid never actually left (EME). We understood that we had to restructure because he was getting bigger. He now has his imprint called, ‘Star Boy’, which is normal. Jay Z signed Kanye (West), who now has G.O.O.D Music. Everything is fine, Wizkid is still with the team. I am very proud of him and I pray that all of my artistes will grow as far as Wizkid and even more.”

NBC Lifts Ban on 2Face, D'Banj, Wizkid Other Artistes

  After several weeks of discussions and bickering, the National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has ordered the Broadcasting Society of Nigeria (BON) and the Independent Broadcasting Society of Nigeria (IBAN) to lift the ban imposed on all Nigerian artistes registered with the Copyrights Society of Nigeria (COSON) and begin airplay of the affected artiste's songs. The ban had been placed early December following the complete fall out between COSON and BON/IBAN over unpaid royalties of Nigerian artistes. COSON had been demanding that BON/IBAN release unpaid royalties of artistes amounting into millions of naira before the latter group got fed up and placed an airplay ban on the COSON artistes. The affected artistes included major acts like 2Face Idibia, D'Banj, Bany W, Onyeka Onwenu, Iyanya, Flavour, Ice Prince, Dr Sid, Olamide, 9ice, M.I, eLDee, Ruggedman, Wizkid, Asa, Waje, Omawumi amongst several others.
